THE RECEPTION ROOM
(Formerly the State Dining Room)

The Reception Room is reminiscent of 16th century Italian High Renaissance. The magnificent coffered ceiling - tinted in regal colors - was done in imitation of a room in the Vatican. Each wall is divided by ornamental pilasters into three spaces. The twelve arches form lunettes featuring murals of figures from Italian masters representing Truth, Music, Piety, Philosophy, Abundance, Justice, History, Peace, Science, Commerce, Industry and Arts.
